I enjoy the finer things in life, such as chicken wings and beer. I’ve created this blog to share my experiences with fellow wing lovers. My goal is to try as many different wing establishments as possible while rating each one. Feel free to leave any comments/suggestions. Enjoy!
I have never heard of Jenny's before, but I soon found out I have really been missing out. Jenny's is a local neighborhood pub on Lady Hammond Road. It doesn't particularly stand out when you are driving by but trust me it is worth checking out. Jenny's offers 3 of my favorite qualities of any restaurant great wings, cheap beer, and the regular menu has the best prices I have seen in a long time. A winning combination if I have ever seen one!
I was pretty surprised to see they have wing specials
three nights a week! Wings are
$5.50/pound from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM on Wednesday and Sunday and from 4:00 PM –
10:00 PM on Thursday. Any other time you’re
looking at $8.95/pound which is still a great price, especially for these
wings. I couldn’t help but notice the
banner on the inside advertising a 56 oz pitcher of Canadian for only $12! One thing to keep in mind is they only accept
credit cards and cash, no debit, and a beverage purchase is required with any
Breading: 5/5 – The wings were well coated with a crispy
(not too crispy) golden breading. A dry
spice addition would have been a nice compliment to them.
Some nice looking wings
Overall quality: 5/5 – Cooked perfectly, had an excellent
flavour, contained no dark meat and weren’t even greasy. These wings were delicious.
Sauce selection: 2/5 – Sauces included Honey Garlic,
Suicide and Dave’s Mild, Medium or Hot.
I went with the hot on the side.
Service: 4/5 – Drinks were offered very fast however it
took a bit of time before we placed the food order. Once the order was taken the food arrived in
a timely fashion. We didn’t require a
drink refill since a pitcher of beer was ordered with the wings.
Size: 5/5 – The wings were bigger than average and even
the flatties contained a decent amount of meat to them.
A good sized flattie
Overall rating: 4.2/5
Jenny’s has been a staple in the North End for years, it
is a place that locals will go and staff will probably remember their names. It is nice to see a pub like this offering
such great wings with a cheap pour to make it even better. I am looking forward to returning, Jenny’s has now been added to my favorites list.
