I enjoy the finer things in life, such as chicken wings and beer. I’ve created this blog to share my experiences with fellow wing lovers. My goal is to try as many different wing establishments as possible while rating each one. Feel free to leave any comments/suggestions. Enjoy!
I discovered Cheachie’s Grill a while ago, a nice cozy place tucked away in Bayer’s Lake. After trying their food recently (I had the best ham and potatoes there around Easter), I knew I had to go back to try their wings, unfortunately they did not live up to their expectations.
Wing night is Wednesday, a pitcher of draught and a pound of wings is $15.95, a pound of wings by themselves is $7.95, but I’d recommend to go all out and get the pitcher too. I’m not too sure what the regular price is.
Breading: n/a – Not breaded, but I’ve had some good non breaded wings recently. That streak didn’t last long.
Overall quality: 2/5 – The little meat that was found on these wings didn’t have a bad taste to it, but these were some small ugly looking wings. Random bones sticking out, one looked like there was already a bite taken out of it while another managed to have a small crater dug in it.
Looks like some meat is missing.
Crater at the end of the wing.
Sauce selection: 2/5 - BBQ, Mild, Medium, Cheach & Insane. I went with the Cheach on the side. I was initially told that I could not have the sauce on the side, but they made an exception. After receiving the wings I fully understood why they do not want you to get the sauce on the side. The sauce was the best part of the whole meal, a mix between hot and sweet with a really nice flavor.
Service: 4/5 – Excellent service and that is part of the reason I will return. I also appreciate honesty, and when I asked how the wings were, the waitress was honest and said horrible. That should have been a good indication for me to reconsider, but I didn't.
Size: 1/5 – These were some pretty small wings.
Small wing and a three pronged fork.
Overall rating: 2.25/5
I will return to Cheachie’s as they have a pretty diverse menu - pizza, Italian, Mexican, fish and chips, steak and perhaps what they may be best known for, hamburgers. I just won’t make the mistake of ordering wings next time I return.
And as a side note, if you know any good arm wrestler's, I'd advise to bring him/her with you as you may get a free meal. Let me know how that works out if you make an attempt.
