I enjoy the finer things in life, such as chicken wings and beer. I’ve created this blog to share my experiences with fellow wing lovers. My goal is to try as many different wing establishments as possible while rating each one. Feel free to leave any comments/suggestions. Enjoy!
We ended up at Winston’s for wing night on a Thursday, I was hoping this would be the end to a bad wing streak and I was right, these wings were incredible.
Wings on Thursday’s are $0.45/wing with sauce on the side or $0.50/wing with sauce on. Regular wing prices are 1 lb $9.99, 2 lbs $18.99, and 3 lbs for $26.99. You also have a choice between four different types of wings - Regular (unbreaded), Dusted (light coating of herbs and spices), Breaded (self explanatory) and Roaster (hand done and made to order).I tried the breaded wings of course, now on to the review:
Breading: 5/5 – Not too light, not too crispy, nice and coated, the breading was excellent with a nice golden color.
Overall quality: 5/5 – The chicken tasted nice and fresh (no dark blotches), not dry and overcooked.
Sauce selection: 3/5 – I’m so glad to see a place with such amazing wings compliment them by having a great sauce selection too, nine different sauces in total – Mild, Medium, Hot, Jumpin Jesus Holy Cow, Honey Garlic, Ranch, Blue Cheese, Jack Daniels and Sweet Thai Chili (I tried hot and Sweet Thai Chili)
There is a special menu just for the wings and sauces, I really enjoy seeing this, for some reason it makes me feel they take their wings seriously.
Nice sauce list
Service: 4/5 – Service was great and it didn’t take too long for the wings to arrive.
Size: 3/5- The wings were a pretty average size, but every bite was delicious.
Total rating: 4/5
I can’t believe it took so long to find another place with some excellent quality wings. I am looking forward to returning to Winston's sooner than later.
