Hart and Thistle - A Different Wing Experience

I had a coupon for Hart and Thistle which ended up turning into a great opportunity to try full price wings.

I went there on a Saturday afternoon and ordered the Thistle Wings – “one pound of our crispy Jamaican jerk spiced wings, with sweet and spicy mango chutney” is how the menu put it.  Sounded a bit fancy to me, but thanks to the coupon, the $11 price tag associated with the Thistle Wings didn’t make me hesitate.  On a side note, the wings also come with a blue cheese sauce too (included in the price).
Spicy mango chutney and blue cheese sauces.  Also a bit of scattered lettuce hiding behind the sauces, not sure why that's even there.
This place isn’t a typical wing establishment and they definitely do not have typical wings.  On to the review:

Breading: 4/5 - The wings had a fairly light breading.  The Jamaican jerk spice was a great idea and made for a pretty unique flavor.

Overall quality: 4/5 – These were some good quality wings, the chicken had a nice fresh taste to it and there were no dark patches of chicken.

Sauce selection: 1/5 – There are two sauces, you don’t have a say in this, the wings automatically come with two sauces.  Blue cheese and spicy mango chutney – I’m more of a fan of typical wing sauce selection but I’m sure there are a lot of people who would enjoy those.

Size: 3/5 – Average wing size, not too small and not jumbo sized.

Service: 3/5 – The service was also pretty average, the waitress was pretty nice, and it didn’t take too long for the wings to arrive (keep in mind we were the only people ordering food in there at the time).

Total rating: 3/5

If you’re looking for a different wing experience and want to pay $11 for about 8 wings, then Hart and Thistle may be the place for you, but I won’t be returning solely for the wings.
