You won't make a mistake at the Moustache

So we finally made it to Your Father’s Moustache for wing night on Thursday, I have been anticipating this one for a while especially since they are rated the second best place for wings in the city as per The Coast Best of Food Readers Poll (even though I don't agree with the top choice).  We were there a little after 5:00 PM and managed to save enough seats for 15 people, the place was packed shortly after we arrived.

The wings are $0.40/each which isn’t too bad but I was a little shocked at their lack of sauce selection, only four options available - honey garlic, barbecue, hot or suicide.  I decided to go with 15 wings, hot sauce on the side.  I found the service was excellent and it didn’t take very long for the wings to arrive considering how busy it was.
2nd best wings in Halifax
The wings looked delicious, a light golden brown with a fairly thin crisp breading but they were a bit undersized and I found the breading a bit sporadic.  The chicken itself tasted very fresh and they weren’t even that greasy.  I would have to say The Coast is correct as these are the second best wings I’ve tried in Halifax so far and earn a rating of 4.5/5.

  1. Review these again. They've improved their sauce selection to include a few more sauces (chipotle, sweet chili, garlic peppercorn to name a few), and this was reviewed before the new review style.

My personal favourite wings in Halifax.

    1. Hey, thanks for the update. I have been meaning to go back there and I hope to do that really soon and rate them on the updated rating scale. I still need to revisit Bubba's too.

    2. Don't bother with Bubba. I was unimpressed with their wing special, only good thing about them is the sauce.

    3. Yeah, the university wings just don't cut it, but the jumbo wings are great (if they only had them on special).

  2. I like rock bottom better and they are the same wings, just better beer.
